Hello my loves!
I’ve had a huge month which included two trips to Los Angeles – a city I get to visit often thanks to it being the pop music capital of the world. I’m super lucky in this respect because I LOVE travelling and I LOVE music so it’s a mixture of my two favourite things. All up I’m gonna guess I’ve spent around 70 hours in an aeroplane this month, and I’ve got the whole ‘don’t turn into a grumpy jet lagged gremlin’ thing down pat. So here are my TOP TIPS for travelling and arriving like this:

- Skip the booze. I know it’s tempting to take advantage of the free alcohol when you’re bored in a metal tube flying through the air with 13 hours ahead of you, but alcohol is a big no no for me. It dehydrates you PLUS it can leave you more ‘happy’ than usual thanks to the altitude.
- Podcasts are your friend! I use airplane time to switch off and have some ‘me-time’. Podcasts are a great way to learn, reflect and generally just become a better human. Some favourites of mine include Oprah’s Soul Sessions and Malcolm Gladwell’s Revisionist History.
- Bring healthy snacks (Bounce balls for me obviously). I don’t know about you but there’s nothing I look forward to more than a snack, so I like to keep some healthy ones in my carry on just in case I get a bit peckish between podcasts.
- Lotions and Potions. I am the queen of lotions and potions – and thanks to the crazy dryness of cabin air, your poor skin suffers on flights. I bring an Aesop facial hydrasol for my face and a good organic moisturiser for my hands. And of course some antibacterial wipes because planes are germ cesspits. But that’s just me being a little weird!
Well my loves – hopefully my words of wisdom prove helpful! And while we’re on the subject of travelling, my #1 piece of advice would be to do it as often as possible. It’s a life changing experience that will grow and stretch you like never before.
